All of the vehicles in the PrimeCare Ambulance Service fleet are fitted with an online vehicle tracking system. This allows our management team to observe and monitor our fleet throughout duties. This online system helps us to ensure the safety of our staff and patients as we are able to locate them within 10 metres, and if they require assistance help can be sought immediately with an accurate location. This online system provides real time updates as to the location and availability of ambulance crews.
For large scale events this system is utilised by our dispatchers and control managers to ensure that resources sent to the location of an emergency are not only the nearest available ambulance but also an adequately staffed vehicle for the individual incident. The tracker system has been used by PrimeCare Ambulance Service since 2011 and has been utilised to allocate our crews to emergency calls during events. The system is fitted to all Ambulances and Rapid Response Vehicles within our fleet.
The system is not only to be utilised by our management team, on request our customers can utilise the online system to give them the ability to track the resources allocated to their event. This give the customer peace of mind knowing the location of the resources allocated to them throughout their event. Our fleet is one of the very few independent ambulance services currently operating a vehicle tracking system.
